Just in time for summer a popular camping sit is back, bigger and better.
Mount Remarkable National Park’s Mambray Creek has reopened following a $2.5 million upgrade with new picnic furniture, hot water showers and larger sites among new amenities.
Southern Flinders and Mid North District Ranger Danny Doyle says the works have modernised the much-loved campground, built in the 1980s, without losing the magic appeal.
Campers and caravaners will have access to 49 camping sites, including 11 double sites and four drive-through sites, within the main campground.
Mambray Creek is the most visited SA campground managed by National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), averaging about 11,000 bookings each year.
