Helipad upgrades planned for local hospitals

Several local hospital helipads will be getting upgraded over the next two years with $23.4 million in State Government funding.

Works will take place at Port Pirie, Port Broughton, Balaklava, Clare and Wallaroo, with the first round to begin later this year, and all 13 sites to be completed next year.

Lighting, navigation equipment, and pathways from the helipads to the hospitals will be included in the upgrades.

While works are underway, alternative landing locations have been arranged at airfields and sports ovals.
