Child protection staff in the APY Lands now have access to high speed internet, thanks to the trial of a new Starlink satellite terminal within a child protection vehicle.
The device provides high-speed internet in rural and remote areas, allowing staff to access critical systems and maintain connectivity.
Frontline staff have already reported immediate benefits, saying it enables consultations to be conducted while travelling between locations.

Once the pilot program is completed, the Department for Child Protection will assess the potential for a wider rollout to other remote areas.
