The audio brand has officially revealed two major additions to its line-up: the Sonos Beam Ultra soundbar and the Sonos Ace Ultra over-ear headphones.
Here is a simple breakdown of what is coming, what it does, and how much it will cost you.
The Beam Ultra: Promises Big Sound in a Sensible Size
Soundbars have a tricky job. They need to sound massive without taking over your entire television cabinet. The original Beam was a favourite for smaller spaces, but the Beam Ultra steps things up substantially. I tried both the original Beam and the bigger Arc from Sonos and found the Beam to fit my space my better.
Packed inside this mid-size bar are nine custom drivers, including two dedicated up-firing speakers. Those upward-angled drivers bounce audio off your ceiling to deliver genuine 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos spatial sound. In plain English: when a plane flies across the screen, it actually sounds like it is soaring overhead rather than just buzzing out of a plastic box under your telly.
Sonos has also redesigned the centre channel to solve that annoying problem where movie explosions rattle the windows, but you cannot hear what the characters are whispering. The Beam Ultra includes four levels of AI Speech Enhancement to boost dialogue clarity, alongside a handy Night Sound setting that keeps late-night viewing from waking the entire household. Even better, if you want a complete surround setup, you can now link compatible Sonos portable speakers as rear channels.
The Ace Ultra: Private Cinema on Your Ears
For those times when you really want to crank up an action film at midnight, or just need to tune out background noise while you listen to your favourite station on iHeart the Sonos Ace Ultra over-ear headphones are a must.
The Ace Ultra comes equipped with custom 40mm drivers and an Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation system powered by ten built-in microphones. Battery life is rated at an impressive 35 hours even with active noise cancellation switched on, making them a solid companion for long flights or marathon listening sessions.
The cleverest trick, however, is a feature called Headphone Engine 2. If you are listening to music or watching television through your home Sonos system, a single button press instantly transfers the sound straight to your headphones without needing to fiddle with your mobile phone. Another tap sends the audio back to the room when you are ready to share again.
Pricing and Availability
Both devices are already available for pre-order, with general retail availability starting on September 29, 2026:
