Country music legend Dolly Parton has given fans an update on her health after missing the grand opening of a her new ride at her Dollywood theme park.

The 80-year-old was due to attend the dedication ceremony for NightFlight Expedition in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Instead, she sent a pre-recorded video message from Nashville, appearing with a pair of fluttering butterfly wings.
“I’m still in Nashville, and I’m sorry about that. I was supposed to be there in person like we planned,” Parton told those gathered at the event.

She explained that ongoing health issues had kept her from travelling.
“I’ve told you before, all my fans, that I’ve had a few little health issues and sometimes I get a little dizzy and I get dehydrated. And I’m dehydrated,” she said. “So my Nashville doctor has kind of clipped my wings, saying, ‘You ain’t travelling this week.’ So I guess if your doctor tells you, ‘You ain’t travelling this week,’ you ain’t travelling this week.”

Parton was quick to put minds at ease.
“All is going well on the medical end of things,”
She also confirmed she is continuing work on several big projects, including the SongTeller Hotel, her Life of Many Colours Museum in Nashville, and a Broadway musical in New York.

NightFlight Expedition is now Dollywood’s biggest and most expensive attraction to date.
