Hell no, I’m bad with flying as it is!

A Japan Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Osaka, Japan, after complications with the plane. On Monday, the 30th of June a Boeing 737 plane dropped 26,000 feet and deployed air masks from the ceiling for its passengers to use.

There was close to 200 individuals on the flights between passengers and crew when the plane experienced complications. In the span of ten minutes the flight fell from 36,000 feet to roughly 10,500 and in that time is when oxygen masks were deployed. Passengers suspected that plane was set to crash with one particularly terrified passenger shared that they had begun writing their will. Some passengers from the flight spoke with the Associated Press about the experience:

“Suddenly, all the oxygen masks popped open while I was sleeping,”

“I heard a muffled boom, and the oxygen mask fell off in a few seconds. The stewardess cried and shouted to put on the oxygen mask, saying the plane had a malfunction,”

After an alert was triggered an issue with the Boeing 737 pressurisation system during descent, the pilot declared an emergency to air traffic control. Control cleared space at Kansai International Airport in Osaka, Japan and was able to make an emergency landing. When the quick descent to 10,500 feet occurred it was roughly 6:50pm local time, by the time the plane landed in Osaka it was close to 8:50pm local time.

Thankfully no injuries occurred during the emergency landing and those onboard were offered transportation compensation of 15,000 yen ($157 AUD). There is currently an investigation underway to determine the reason of the emergency landing.
