Whyalla has unveiled a new state-of-the-art facility at Jubilee Park.
With funding of more than $400,000 from the State Government, matched by the Whyalla City Council, the facility boasts upgraded amenities.
Mayor Phill Stone anticipates this enhancement will boost Whyalla’s potential to attract major regional events, particularly sporting competitions, contributing significantly to the local economy through increased visitor numbers.
Sporting groups are already utilizing the Jubilee Park oval, including the Whyalla Junior Soccer Association and Football League clubs.
It’s expected the new facility will be able to benefit even more sports and the broader community in the coming years, including providing accessible, DDA-compliant toilets for the upcoming Whyalla Show.
