Two Police Officers have been injured during an attempt to break up a street fight in Port Augusta.
The incident occurred at around 2 am on Saturday when officers intervened after a pub closure led to a violent altercation.
While trying to restrain one of the men involved, an officer was pushed from behind, while another person attempted to hinder the officer and was pepper-sprayed.
Six individuals, including two men, three women, and a 17-year-old girl, were subsequently arrested on Commercial Rd.
Local residents expressed the need for increased police presence, citing the challenging nature of law enforcement’s job.
The arrested individuals have been prohibited from entering the area where the fight occurred.
