Port Pirie Regional Council is set to begin significant replacement work on the Wandearah Road rising main in Port Pirie.
The project involves deep excavations over the next months to install a new pumping main that will enhance flood protection for the Wandearah Road catchment area by improving discharge capacity.
The existing pumping main is deteriorating and undersized according to current stormwater models.
The project’s first stage begins today with alignment marking and service checks, causing minimal traffic disruptions.
The car park near Flinders View Park will be used as a site compound.
Main construction starts September 4, with most work scheduled for nighttime to minimize traffic disruption.
