A couple have been forced to make an emergency landing, after their aircraft encountered engine issues yesterday.
The couple were sightseeing over Lake Eyre when the plane’s engine failed, prompting a mayday call and forcing an emergency landing in a sheep paddock just north of Port Pirie.
The plane’s pilot was able to safely land the plane, and there were no injuries to the passengers or the sheep.

Many nearby residents rushed over to offer assistance, with the pair using the app ‘What Three Words’ to alert emergency services.
