Dozens of new defibrillators are on their way to the Northern Areas district.
The Council is in the process of installing the Automatic External Defibrillators across its public buildings, in preparation for new State Government legislation which will commence on 1 January 2026.
The new defibrillators come via a $20,000 funding assistance from the South Australian Government’s Automated External Defibrillator Grants Program to assist with the rollout.
Mayor Sue Scarman said the rollout was a positive for the local community.
“Many members of our local towns aren’t as young as they used to be and thankfully in the event of an emergency, there will be a little more help available than there once was,” she said.
