A new overtaking lane just north of Lochiel is hoped to improve travel times for commuters.
The southbound lane on the Augusta Highway between Maro Creek Lane and Diagonal Road is now open to traffic, with speed restrictions still in place while the surface settles.
Construction on a second new overtaking lane – located between Lake View Road and Mallee Corner Road, south of Redhill – is also progressing.

Work is expected to be completed by mid-year, weather permitting.
