Man rescued after falling down a well in Yongala

In the region’s second big rescue this week, a man’s been saved after falling into a well in the Mid North.

The man was pulled to safety after falling five metres into the well on Main Street, Yongala, around 4pm on Tuesday, 16 January.

He sustained injuries including a broken arm and hip.

The rescue mission took about an hour, with the help of SES, CFS, SA Ambulance and SA Police.

This incident comes just three days after a man was rescued from the bottom of a 27-metre mine shaft in Coober Pedy on Saturday, 13 January.
