Augusta Park Primary and Flinders View Primary are two of 18 public schools across South Australia to receive a quarter of a million dollars for upgrades.

Education Minister Blair Boyer says $17 million in federal funds is being spread across regional and metro schools in the state.

“Eighteen different public schools will get funding of at least $250,000 to do things like upgrade sporting facilities, resurface courts, new playground equipment, upgrade food tech and home economic spaces,” Minister Boyer says.

The process of selecting successful applicants was time consuming, and the Minster says he won’t pretend these 18 projects will solve all school infrastructure needs.

“We have made sure that the money has been spread around, but we’ve looked at those schools that had great need and would really benefit from a funding boost.”

More successful applicants include Fisk Street Primary School, Hincks Avenue Primary School, Central Yorke School, Hawker Area School, and Coober Pedy Area School.
