Under the Eyre Peninsula Landscape Board’s Grassroots Grants program, approximately $140,000 will be allocated to landscape management and environmental protection projects on the Peninsula
A total of 15 projects have been selected for funding, with the majority coming from the community and education sectors, and three each from the agriculture and local government sectors.
The projects encompass a wide range of activities, including the establishment of two short loop interpretive walking trails installed at Eight-Mile Creek Beach and Murrippi Beach near Whyalla.
Other grants include research on the conservation status of a frog species, pest plant removal, landscape revegetation, and initiatives to connect farming communities and provide valuable learning opportunities.
The grants aim to support community-led efforts to protect and enhance the Eyre Peninsula’s environment.
