Community groups across the Mid North and Yorke Peninsula are being encouraged to apply for some cash, through SA Power Networks’ latest Community Grants program.
Up to $5,000 is available for projects that bring people together, in line with this year’s theme of ‘Social Connections’.
A total of $132,000 was shared across 30 projects and organisations in 2025, including four groups across our regions.
Balaklava High School used their grant to develop a Reconciliation Action Plan, while Crystal Brook Kindergarten commissioned a new mural by local Aboriginal artist Judy Crosby-Woods.
Over in Port Pirie, the Community Garden built a free-standing shelter to provide protection for members and visitors, and the YMCASA – The Valleys Lifestyle Centre used their cash to upgrade their existing pool heating system to solar energy.
