Microsoft has announced the next wave of titles landing on Xbox Game Pass for October, and it is an absolute mountain of digital entertainment. Whether you want to test your reflexes in a warzone or casually take photos with a cartoon dog, your weekend plans are officially ruined in the best way possible.

Leading the charge is Battlefield 6, arriving tomorrow, 13 October, for Game Pass Ultimate and PC members via EA Play. It drops right in time for the massive Season 5 update, which shifts the all-out warfare to Nevada. The new season rolls out three destructible maps—the neon-lit Vegas Strip, the highly classified Area 51, and a close-quarters European Casino. Alongside highly requested community features like Platoons and a Server Browser, players can jump into a faster-paced “Rapid Royale” mode in REDSEC. If that is not enough chaos, there is even a terrifying Dead Space crossover event kicking off on 20 October.

If you prefer to be stressed in a different historical era, Valor Mortis drops on the same day. Built by the creators of Ghostrunner, this first-person soulslike casts you as a resurrected Napoleonic soldier battling horrific monsters with dark magic.

For players who prefer less digital trauma and more wholesome vibes, 15 October brings Bluey’s Happy Snaps. You can team up for local two-player fun, explore familiar spots from the beloved series, snap photos of wildlife, and generally enjoy some low-stakes relaxation.

Here is the quick breakdown of the brand-new arrivals dropping throughout October:

  • Echo Weaver (8 Oct): A time-looping metroidvania where information and secrets serve as your character upgrades.
  • Forever Ago (8 Oct): A cosy, narrative-driven road trip following an elderly traveller named Alfred capturing memories on his camera.
  • Neon Abyss 2 (8 Oct): Fast, flashy roguelike gunplay through a cyberpunk underworld ruled by ancient gods.
  • Deep Dish Dungeon (13 Oct): Hand-crafted dungeon survival featuring co-op crafting and puzzle solving.
  • Chained Beasts (15 Oct): A chaotic gladiator roguelike where you and up to three mates are literally chained together inside the arena.
  • Beyond These Stars (16 Oct): A sci-fi city builder where your entire civilisation lives on the back of an enormous wandering Space Whale.

If you somehow managed to miss the recent surprise additions, Gears of War: E-Day and Minecraft Dungeons II are already sitting in the library waiting for a download. Racing enthusiasts can also claim free bonus cars and credits in Asphalt Legends right now.

Now for the bad news. As the revolving door turns, several heavy hitters will leave the service on 15 October. You only have a few days left to finish A Plague Tale: Requiem, Pacific Drive, Evil West, and The Casting of Frank Stone before they depart. If you want to keep playing after that date, be sure to use your subscriber discount to buy them outright before they disappear.
