Bad news for music fans, Post Malone has officially postponed the Australian leg of his Big Ass World Tour, just a month before he was set to take the stage.
The American singer, whose real name is Austin Post, was scheduled to perform his largest shows to date in Australia. Fans were gearing up for massive stadium concerts at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on October 9, Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on October 12, and Sydney’s ENGIE Stadium on October 15.
Ticketholders recently received a message from Live Nation confirming the tour’s postponement. The statement clarified that all tickets will be fully refunded and are no longer valid. So far, no official reason has been provided for the sudden change of plans.
This update also means the 31-year-old will no longer perform at the Strummingbird Festival next month. He was slated to play in Ballarat on October 10, Newcastle on October 17, and the Sunshine Coast on October 18.
While festival organisers shared on Instagram that they were disappointed by the news, they have moved quickly to adjust the lineup. US country acts Tyler Childers and Sam Barber, along with Australian artist James Johnston, have stepped up to fill the gap.
If you had tickets to the stadium shows, keep an eye on your bank account for that refund. As for the Strummingbird Festival, the show will go on with a brand new lineup of talent.
