A bright future for the Port Augusta Cadets

There was a point when the Port Augusta Army Cadets were forced to close due to lack of numbers. But after a six month hiatus and plenty of hard work, the Cadet unit is booming.

From an initial unit of 5 cadets, numbers surged to over 17 cadets in January.

Open to teenagers aged between 13 and 17, cadets unit a fun, totally safe and skill-building past time for Port Augusta teens. As well as learning navigation, camping and radio skills, the cadets learn leadership skills by running their own training sessions, under guidance and supervision of course (from an ex-Army Officer no less).

Training sessions are held Thursdays at the Hannagan Street Barracks, with anyone welcome to attend. For more information call 8643 6126
