Sriracha Recall Over Fear They May Explode, Yikes

It's my obligation to bring you news that many, many bottles of our beloved Sriracha hot sauce have been recalled across Australia and New Zealand today.

They fear they may explode when people open them.

Food Standards Australia & New Zealand announced a big recall of the iconic bottles of chilli sauce on Thursday.

It was believed that a build up of lactic acid in the bottles have caused them to bloat with the prediction they will explode once pressure is released.

If you have one of these bottles at home and haven't had the displeasure of it splattering everywhere just yet, they have the best before date of March 2021.

Sriracha lovers are being urged to return any bottles where they bought them for a FULL refund, unless you wish to tempt fate and potentially end up with hot sauce in your eyes.

What a Christmas letdown!

Make sure to check your Sriracha bottles and if they're bloated, for the love of all things Kringle please return them!

You do not want to spend the rest of your holiday trying to get it out of your eyes, or crying incessantly.
