Police are recommending wine growers in the Yorke Mid North Local Service Area consider security audits of their properties in the wake of several theft reports in recent months.
Incidents have involved the theft of wine, plus a barbeque and tools being taken from another property.
While the rural nature of wine properties can mean that premises are isolated from other properties, or lightly secured, police are able to provide a free security audit and report to assist in countering these issues.
Any interested businesses can contact the Yorke Mid North Crime Prevention Section on 8638 4057 to arrange a convenient time for an audit.
Or businesses can conduct a self-audit using information on the SA Police corporate website under the headings of 'Business Security' and 'Rural and Farm Security'.
Anyone who notices suspicious activity, people or behaviour in their area is urged to call police immediately on 131 444.
