Tasmanians are being reassured the state's energy supply is secure despite another repair delay for the power connection to the mainland.
The Basslink interconnector in Victoria went offline in late March following damage to equipment at the Loy Yang converter station.
The service was initially expected to be back online by mid-April, before the date was pushed out to May 31 but Hydro Tasmania on Thursday said Basslink had now advised the work was due to be finished by June 5.
Hydro Tasmania added this posed no issue for the state's energy security, an assurance echoed in a statement from Minister for Energy Guy Barnett.
"Hydro storage levels are very secure at 37.6 per cent as at Monday this week," Mr Barnett said
He said the state government would continue to monitor the situation closely.
