Former Whyalla Mayor Jim Pollock honoured

whyalla generic.JPGFormer Whyalla Mayor Jim Pollock finally has his name on the Whyalla Wetlands.
On Saturday, the Wetlands were officially named after Mr Pollock at a large ceremony with as many as 50 people in attendance.
He’s now got his name set in stone-as so to speak- on a 14 tonne iron ore boulder serving as a plaque- much to the happiness of his friends and family.
For Jim’s wife, Jenny Pollock, the irony of the plaque hasn’t been lost on her.
She says the lump of iron ore is very appropriate as Jim , was a rock for Whyalla, with a heart that probably weighed around the 14 tonne mark.
He became a councillor in 1997 went on to be Deputy Mayor and was then Whyalla Mayor from 2003 to 2016, the same year he passed away.
