Some intrigue and questions currently surround the inaugural Quandong Festival in Quorn this year.
The questions stem from the fact that it won't yet be quandong season when the festival is set to go ahead on August 6.
The festival will bring a celebration of native food in the heart of the Flinders Ranges, and will be supported by the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal Future Drought Fund and South Australian Arid Lands.
Festival creative director Rebecca Sullivan, of Warndu, says the "spirit of reconciliation and a celebration of regenerative agriculture, are key to Australia's food industry and how it adapts to a changing climate."
Applications are now open for native food growers, harvesters and cooks to apply for food stalls.
