A deep-water port facility exporting magnetite concentrate could be operational at Myponie Point by late 2024, following a new agreement with Hawsons Iron.

Hawsons Iron, have signed a two-year land option agreement to purchase three adjoining parcels of land at Myponie Point which is just 10km north of Wallaroo for $14 million.

Managing Director Bryan Granzien says, following the 405 hectare site agreement, planning and detailed design work can continue on the deep-water port facility and the underground slurry pipeline from Broken Hill.

Hawsons has also signed a memorandum of understanding with Flinders Ports for the facility, which includes finance, construction, and owner/operation of the port.
