Taylor Walker is taking steps to repair his damaged relationship with the South Australian Indigenous community, with a visit to Port Augusta last Thursday as part of the Adelaide Crows Indigenous program.
The former club captain was one of five Crows who accepted the trip invitation, including Wayne Milera and Port Augusta born, Tariek Newchurch.
Walker, was banned for six games and ordered to undergo an education program following a racial slur towards North Adelaide player Robbie Young while he was a spectator at a SANFL game.
Adelaide’s Indigenous programs manager, Jeremy Johncock, oversaw the regional visit which was not mandated element of Walker’s reconciliation agreements.
Adelaide senior coach Matthew Nicks, has confirmed Tex will be returning to West Lakes next year despite the lingering ban.
