Construction on the Wallaroo to Moonta trail is set to begin next month.
The 14.4km shared-path will link the existing paths between Wallaroo and Kadina and Port Hughes and Moonta, allowing walkers, runners and riders a direct route through the Copper Coast towns.
Various State and Federal grant programs have funded the project over 700 thousand dollars, while the Council are also contributing close to 900 thousand including project management costs.
The path will begin in Ryan Street and travel along Cornish and Park Terraces before crossing Magazine Road and linking with the old railway corridor and ending at the Moonta information office.
Federal Member for Narrunga, Fraser Ellis, says the trail will benefit the community in terms of tourism and infrastructure as well as overall health.
