This Friday the 2nd of April, works to upgrade the West Terrace level crossing in Quorn, on the Quorn to Port Augusta railway line, operated by the Pichi Richi Railway Preservation Society, are expected to commence.
The Flinders Ranges Council have been advised the work will be continuing through April and May with it due to be completed by Wednesday 1 June 2021.
The existing passive ‘Give Way’ controls at the crossing on West Terrace will be replaced with flashing light and bell assemblies to improve safety for all road users.
There should not be any disruptions to traffic or trains.
The Pichi Richi Railway Preservation Society will be undertaking the works. $717,200 has been provided by the State Government’s Railway Crossing Safety Improvement Program.
