Following an extensive search over the weekend, the body of a teenage boy has been found in waters off Browns Beach on the Yorke Peninsula.
Just before 2pm Saturday 27 March police were called to the Innes National Park after a group of people were swept off the rocks at Browns Beach.
One adult and three teens managed to make it to safety; however one teenage boy disappeared under water and could not be found.
Police with the assistance of local fishermen, Sea Rescue, SES, CFS, National Parks and PolAir commenced an immediate search but were unable to locate the boy.
The search recommenced early yesterday morning with the assistance of Police Water Operations Unit divers.
Sadly just before 11.30am,police divers located the body of a 16-year-old boy from Paralowie in the area he was last seen. Police have thanked members of the community for their assistance with the search, and will be preparing a report for the coroner.
The boy's family have requested privacy at this time.
