The Clare & Gilbert Valleys Council have elected a new councillor following a supplementary election, with voting closing on Monday afternoon.
Four nominations for the position were received, with scrutineers determining that David Wilson had received enough votes to win the position.
Mr Wilson has been a lifetime resident of the Clare Valley, and has previously sat as Vice Chair and Chair of the Clare Valley Flying Group, and was involved establishing the Clare Valley Aerodrome.
The newly elected councillor received 40 percent of the primary vote, and was provisionally elected once preferential voting was taken into account.
