The Whyalla City Council and Cleanaway are working together in a new initiative to help residents clean up over the long weekend.
Cleanaway will be providing four skip bins spread across the city in carefully selected areas to ensure best accessibility for residents.
The skip bins will be available from Friday 5th of March until Monday the 8th of March.
Cleanaway are committed to emptying them daily.
The council asks residents to respect the initiative and place only non-hazardous materials in the bins, (no car batteries, gas bottles, paints, flammable items etc).
Items should not be left out next to the bins, if there’s no room in the skip then either hold your items over until the next day after the skip has emptied, or consider disposing via the weekly kerbside pick-up service, or take advantage of Council’s FREE hard waste collection service.
The skips will be at the following sites:
- Miriam Hickey Reserve (the corners of Wood, Barson and Sharp streets)
- Haynes Park – opposite Bradford Reserve (the corners of Duncan, Beerworth and Bradford streets
- Schulz Reserve – in the carpark; and
- On the corner of Cartledge and Jenkins Avenue.''
