Kerbing Works Kicking Off in Whyalla

local news

In Whyalla, Kerbing replacement works are currently underway, starting at the Playford Avenue at end of Elliott Street and progressing to Essington Lewis Avenue.

The works are expected to take up to 2 months to be completed and anyone directly affected were advised via letterbox drop.

For the first phase, traffic will be restricted to the right-hand lane whilst kerbing is replaced in front of residences.

For 2-3 days, Route 1 Bus stops 5 and 6 will be temporarily relocated as works in front of the existing bus stops is undertaken.

You can expect restricted parking in front of residences as work progresses.

Once the kerbing work reaches Essington Lewis Avenue, workers will then turn around and work back towards Playford Avenue, replacing the kerbs on the north side of the median strips.

At that stage traffic will then be restricted to the left-hand lane whilst these median strip kerb replacement works are undertaken.

Council urges the community to drive safely and be aware of changed traffic conditions and reduced speed requirements in this area.
