Philip Heaslip has been re-elected as Mayor for the District Council of Mount Remarkable for another term.
The decision was made at Council’s monthly general meeting, with Mr Heaslip stating, “There is a lot on Council’s upcoming agenda, including the ‘Melrose to Booleroo Centre Rail Trail grant, with approximately $200,000 in funding received by Council. The Rail Trail will be lengthened, allowing more families to utilise the push bike riding track.”
“I am thankful for the support and trust shown in me by my fellow Councillors, and ultimately the community. It has been a fulfilling two years as Mayor, and I endeavour to continue working hard in the role for the betterment of the community” said Mayor Phillip Heaslip.
At the meeting, Don Norton was also elected as Deputy Mayor with Mr Heaslip thanking Council’s previous Deputy Mayor Barry Richards, who ‘did a terrific job.’
