Thirteen representatives from Catholic schools in the diocese of Port Pirie will gather at St Mark’s College tomorrow to farewell Bishop Greg O’Kelly.
Bishop O’Kelly has played an active role within the Diocesan schools over the last eleven years, with St Mark’s College Principal, Greg Hay stating that, “The Bishop will be saying goodbye to a ministry of service and to a thousand relationships.”
He went on to say that Bishop O’Kelly, “Will say goodbye to the hundreds of assemblies of school children in the vastness of rural South Australia and the inspiration he created in telling us that a Catholic education is a privilege.”
The celebrations will commence at 10am tomorrow at St Mark’s Colleges Sports Centre, Bishop Greg O’Kelly, Nichii Marden, Director of Catholic Education, Diocese of Port Pirie and Parish Priests from the Diocese of Port Pirie all set to attend.
Students and staff of St Mark’s College will also be present, along with Principals and student representatives and Board Chairpersons from Catholic schools from the Eyre Peninsula, Riverland, Mid North and Yorke Peninsula
The Installation of the new Bishop, Karol Kulczycki, will be held on Wednesday the 28th of October at St Mark’s Cathedral.
