Port Pirie's 'Solomontown Jetty' is getting upgraded.
Council have secured a contractor, who will commence replacing a selection of existing piles and other timber and steel structural items that have deteriorated over the years, with most of the works focusing on the Northern end of the Jetty.
The works have led to a temporary closure of the Jetty, commencing today, and continuing until completion. The upgrades are expected to be finished by mid to late next month, ensuring the Jetty will be open for the Summer season.
