A high range drink driver has been caught in Port Augusta.
While police were patrolling along Carlton Parade they observed a Holden Commodore driving toward them in the centre of the road. As the car approached police it slowly moved back into its lane and continued on.
Police conducted a U-turn and pulled the car over to speak to the driver. Checks revealed the 26-year-old local man, had a disqualified driver’s licence.
Police then breath tested the man who allegedly returned a positive result of 0.281, which is five times over the limit.
The man was reported for drink driving as well as driving disqualified.
He was issued a 12-month loss of licence and his car was impounded for 29 days.
