P-Plater Arrested in Port Pirie

A teenage driver was arrested after failing to comply with a breath test at Port Pirie.

Patrols stopped a vehicle in Ellen Street, for a mobile driver test, where the driver.

A 19-year-old Port Pirie man, recorded a positive test and was taken back to the local station for breath analysis and drug screening tests, which he allegedly refused.

A search revealed a quantity of cannabis in his possession and an expandable baton in his car, and he was issued with a cannabis expiation notice.

He was arrested, charged for multiple offences and issued with an instant 12-month loss of licence, while his vehicle was defected and impounded for 28 days.

He was bailed to appear in the Port Pirie Magistrates Court on the 6th of October.
