The results are in, as Port Pirie locals identify the community’s top 5 priorities for Council.
Following results from Port Pirie Regional Council’s 2020 Community Plan Survey, business industry support and attraction, upgrading roads and footpaths and Port Pirie’s foreshore redevelopment were considered key priorities.
A total of 123 respondents completed the survey, which was part of the first stage of a five-year review of Council’s Community Plan 2016-2025.
Council have said, “The revised Plan will provide more detail on priorities to shape activities and projects in the coming years.”
“The revised Plan will be made available for further community feedback in the next stage of consultation.”
The survey indicated the best performing Council services or activities as parks and gardens, the Port Pirie Sports Precinct, Council events and communication.
Areas identified as needing more attention was footpaths, unsealed roads, tree maintenance and the overall appearance of towns, playgrounds and Solomontown Beach.
