Regional Jobs Emerge Amid Coronavirus Restrictions

More than 200 jobs are set to emerge in the state’s Mid North thanks to Pirie Meats new Abattoir.

The new abattoir is set to be built near Warnertown, with CEO Reg Smyth, recently visited the site with Hon Geoff Brock and Mayor Leon Stephens to observe the milestone collection of the Geotechnical Core samples from the site.

The samples obtained will now inform the final civil engineering design, with Pirie Meats confirming that they remain positive for substantial funding to be available in the short term.

200 ongoing full-time jobs and an additional 150 secondary jobs are expected to benefit the region. Once completed, the facility will play an important role in the future of our state's red meat industry.
