Port Augusta City Council have announced that Community Forums will no longer be held prior to ordinary Council Meetings due to the significant work, health and safety risks posed by allegedly antisocial behaviours.
Previous forums have posed as a safety risk to not only employees and Elected Members, but also to members of the community and visitors which led to the cancellation of the Forums.
Despite this, members of the community will be still be able to raise questions and concerns and engage directly with Elected Members from Council, through the newly proposed Community Consultation sessions.
Council have committed to engaging community members through the newly targeted consultation sessions for the remainder of the year and looking forward into 2021.
