The Copper Coast Council has begun installing Electric Mobility Scooter charging stations across the region.
Installations begun last Friday on the 21st, with a total of six stations to be installed across Kadina, Wallaroo and Moonta.
The stations consist of a secured power point, allowing electric scooter and wheelchair users to plug in whilst out and about, free of charge.
It’s hoped the stations will embolden those who require a wheelchair or gopher to venture out into the community more freely, without the risk of draining their battery along the way.
Funding for the project has come from the Federal Government’s Drought Communities Programme.
The planned charging station locations are;
- Victoria Square rotunda
- Kadina Community Library
- Wallaroo trail path shade area
- Wallaroo Adventure Playground
- Queen Square rotunda
- Moonta Bay Foreshore
