Whyalla Police Appeal For Information Concerning Copper Piping Thiefts


Whyalla police are appealing for information and urging vigilance following a number of copper piping thefts recently.

Between November 2019 and January 2020, police have received 11 reports of copper piping being stolen from premises in the Whyalla, Whyalla Norrie and Whyalla Playford areas.

Commonly stolen items have been amounts of copper pipes and fittings from the exterior of houses and businesses.

Members of the public are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to police immediately on 131 444.

Local scrap and second hand dealers are also asked to keep an eye out for anyone attempting to sell large volumes of piping or other similar items that are suspected of being stolen.
