Yorke Peninsula Council have announced that ‘Burn-Off’ season has commenced this week.
As an agribusiness region, the Yorke Peninsula has burn-offs each year. Residents and land owners are only permitted to facilitate burning activities from Monday through to Friday, 9 am till 9 pm excluding fire ban days and public holidays and only when once a permit has been obtained.
Burn-offs often result in smoke sightings across the region. Yorke Peninsula Council encourage anyone who is concerned about a smoke sighting to check burn off locations until 30th of April when the burn-off season concludes.
