A new Planning and Design Code has been put forward for rural councils including those situated in the Spencer Gulf.
In an effort to give stakeholders and the public more time to implement the new Planning and Design Code, Spencer Gulf’s Mayors have shown their support by extending the deadline. Allowing local councils, business industries and communities to have more time allocated to concentrate on understanding, preparing and conceptualising the new planning system.
“We need to listen to our industry and the community, if they wish to have more time to understand the e- planning system and get it right, then we support the State Governments decision.” Mayor Leon Stephens stated.
It is likely that implementation of Phase Two Code will be delayed regionally by three months until July.
