RAA Offers Grants for Regional Communities

Multiple Yorke Peninsula, Eastern Eyre Peninsula and Mid North organisations have benefitted from the RAA’s $50,000 Regional Safety Grants.

The Whyalla Surf Life Saving Club have received close to $5,000 to expand first aid and CPR training. The Whyalla Bowling Club received close to $3,000 in funding for a defibrillator. The Northern Yorke CFS received approximately $1,200 for a mobile phone kit. The Yorke Valley CFS Group received just over $2,000 for the purchase of a thermal camera and Koolunga Primary School received close to $7,000 to erect a fence between the school grounds for student safety.

The grants aim to provide much needed support to regional communities by funding critical projects and improving the overall safety and wellbeing for locals.

RAA Insurance spokesman Shaun Ryan said, “Since the grant's inception in 2013/14, the RAA has been able to provide more than $360,000 in funding to 114 worthy causes across the state, which all share a common goal of keeping South Australians safe.”
