The Copper Coast Council are looking to improve their digital media accessibility for those with who are visually impaired.
Council have trialled adding ‘Alternative Text’, to improve overall accessibility to council’s online services for the community.
‘Alternative Text’ describes images and can be used by people with vision impairments who use screen readers for websites, applications and documents. If an image has Alternate Text, it will be read out for the user.
Council are in the process of implementing this into all media platforms as well as their website, after the success of the trial.
