The City of Whyalla have invited community groups to meet with Council on a regular basis.
The meetings, held in the Council chamber, will allow incorporated groups to speak directly to Council, Mayor Clare McLaughlin, elected members and the CEO at scheduled quarterly meetings.
The meetings are designed to discuss issues, ideas, initiatives and endeavours that could benefit the city.
Mayor Clare McLaughlin, believes the meetings will allow a positive two-way conversation between Council and community groups.
“It is an important role of Council to listen and engage with the community,” she said.
The first round will be taking place Monday January 13th with bookings required.
All expressions of interest must be received by close of business, Monday January 6th.
Council have stated, “Letters requesting a meeting require up to three main points for official business and other topics for general discussion. To ensure expediency and ensure every group has a fair meeting, they will be capped at one hour with a maximum of eight members able to attend from each group.”
Letters requesting a meeting, can be addressed to Executive Assistant Michelle Armstrong and can be sent to [email protected] or by mail to PO Box 126, Whyalla, 5600.
