Stage 1 of Whyalla’s $2.8million dollar Bennett Oval redevelopment continues with the irrigation installations completed.

Approximately 2500m of PVC piping has been installed below the turf surface with 135 sprinkler heads spaced 15 metres apart to create an even watering coverage of the Bennett Oval surface.

South Australian company Greene Eden Water Systems are behind the installation which is now linked up to the Council’s computerised central control system, which also controls the median strips and other football fields in the city.

The companies Managing Director Trevor Eden has stated “The new irrigation system had gone in without a problem, with the system using reclaimed water, only coming on at night as per regulation watering guidelines for this type of water.
