Whyalla Police detected a drug driver last Friday night.
About 9.20pm, police pulled over a vehicle on Bastyan Crescent, Whyalla Stuart for a mobile driver test.
The driver, a 40-year-old Whyalla Stuart man, tested positive to methamphetamine.
He was issued with a direction not to drive and the sample was sent for forensic analysis.
Over the course of one-night police tested just over 2500 drivers for alcohol and almost 140 for drugs state-wide.
Police will continue to conduct operations across the state to not only educate road users of the dangers and risks of driving while under the influence, but also aim to detect those drivers who make poor and irresponsible decisions to get behind the wheel while they are affected by alcohol and/or drugs.
