A family in the Clare Valley are the new owners of over $1 million after they took out the division one prize in the X Lotto last week.
“I could not believe it when I saw the numbers yesterday!” the winner said.
“My son then checked the numbers online and confirmed that we had won.”
She told SA Lotteries the family sat up most the night debating what they’ll spend the money on.
“We were up late talking about the win and what we would do with it."
The Mid North family decided they’ll upgrade their home with the winnings which totalled one million seventeen thousand six hundred and forty three dollars and thirty seven cents.
The winner wishes to remain anonymous but we can say she bought the ticket from Richard’s Clare Valley Terry White Chemmart.
The pharmacy’s lotteries manager Lyn Barr says they often joked about giving away a winning lottery ticket.
“Wouldnt it be great to sell a division one prize winning ticket and the odds against it are huge and we’ve done it, so it's cool,” she said.
The staff however, are now waiting for their prize.
“People say to us if they win they’ll come in and buy us a coffee so we’re waiting for our coffee.”
